Engineered Garments QT vests

Very soon I'm sure New York-based Engineered Garments will release some clothes I really don't like. Until then, here's some more stuff I totes dig - the flavoursome QT quilted vests:

Penis Power vs. Vagina Power, per Alexyss K. Tylor

At his Chicago Sun-Times blog, legendary film critic Roger Ebert recently posted a vintage TV clip which examines, er, Penis Power versus Vagina Power. It's certainly one of the strangest things I've seen in months. Explaining the epic clash is the jaw-droppingly frank Alexyss K. Tylor, who had a program on Atlanta public access TV in the 1990s.

"The woman listening here is her mother," informs Ebert. "There is no reason she couldn't be a comedy club star, although I can't be sure she intends to be funny."

The Fitzroy Lodge Boxing Club

from HypeBeast:

"For over 100 years, the Fitzroy Lodge has been a safe environment for competitive boxers to train and compete, fostering discipline, respect, honor, self-control, and a healthy lifestyle. Founded by Mick Carney, who passed away just one year ago, the club located under the arches of Waterloo station has perhaps most importantly taught hosts of at-risk youth what it means to “be your own person.” Following from PORT magazine’s issue 7 boxing feature, this short film shows the club in action, in the process displaying the discipline and camaraderie taught within the lodge’s walls."

Apple 5 fangirl wants an iPhone bad (but she’s not really sure why)

Unless you've been living under a rock in North Korea or Burma for a week, you'll know that Apple has just released the iPhone 5. From Westfield to Wyoming, Apple fans have been queueing 'round the block to get their mitts on the latest slick gadget from the tech overlords.

In fact, excitement is so frenzied that some people who aren't even that into Apple products or have much of an idea about what the new smartphone actually does are queueing up in their droves.

People like Rachel, who film-maker Sam Roberts discovered waiting on line for an iPhone 5 on 5th Avenue in Manhattan for, well, no apparent reason.

"This woman is not a plant, she is a real person, and she is brilliant," insists Roberts.

Shorts for Autumn

According to Post Overalls supremo Takeshi, the onset of autumn shouldn't necessarily mean no more wearing shorts. Here are three looks for the shoulder months from the Post Overalls blog:

Gentrification in Berlin

Not everyone in the Berlin nabe of Neukölln is entirely pumped about the influx of hipsters into the area. In fact some find it downright distastesful. Like the founders of the first szene-pub in the area ...

Engineered Garments Hooded Padded Vest

I'm really not really sure when one needs a garment which promises a hot head but cold arms (?) but for that strange sitch this, er, hooded, armless padded vest is surely one's best bet.

As with most of the clothes ArchBlog eyes up, it's available from the peerless Nepenthes in New York.
